Can't See the Forest for the Trees

about

I really just wanted to paint a musical picture of what it feels like to try to follow Christ while holding on to the worlds standards.

lyrics

I'm just a man trying to get out of the forest, my boots are heavy dragging mud up on the road. My back is tired from the weight of all this luggage, but I just can't let it go- This is all that I know. Every now and then I write home to my papa, it gives me just enough strength to get by. and In my head echoes a song that's so familiar "Not everyone lives, but everyone Dies Alone" Every night I gather branches for the fire, to keep me warm so I can finally rest my head, but everything I find is always logged with water so I just said "forget it, if it rains God then let it pour" cause I'm the man who digs a grave without a shovel. I'm haunted daily by this will to belong. and when I stumble I can hear the liar whisper "You're a sinner how can God ever love your songs?" You're wrong. I can't believe I tried to make it on my own!

Listener: "These things we keep they don't keep us free, They can't make us free and we try and we'll try. These things we keep don't keep us free and they won't let us be free and we die and we'll die alone. These things we keep don't keep us free, can't make us free and we try and we'll try. These things we keep they don't keep us free they won't let us free and we die, we'll die alone. and sometimes maybe we just can't live in all the ways we want to or should. we can hold each other up in this life and die together to really be alive together, and sometimes maybe those paths we want to take just aren't for us right now to take. but there's a rain coming, and rain won't last forever so lets try to drink it all in and then wait for the sun to come up again, this dark won't be forever either and I'll wait with you til it's ll gone.

Group of Friends: Hold me close and help me smile, lift me up like the sun in the morning, and if I turn my back light the righteous path and guide me safely home.

Half Price Hero Cleveland, Tennessee

I was born in a small town in Ohio. I later moved to Chattanooga TN. I lived there for a while and the Lord found my heart! I decided that I would follow Christ to the ends of the earth! So I moved to Cleveland TN with a few good friends, we did some ministry out of a Church building that we rented. We fed the Hungry, showed love to addicts, and built lasting friendships! The music is always 2nd. ... more
